Christmas Short Stories

At present the G & T group are working on creating a book of short stories for children about Christmas or winter. They have written their stories either individually or in pairs and we are now typing them up and drawing the pictures to illustrate them. They are hoping to be able to sell these at the Christmas Fair in November. They will also be reading these stories to the children around the school. A whole variety of story plots have been created and I am looking forward to being able to publish them on the web!

Peacock Poems

These poems were inspired by looking carefully at photos of the peacock and close ups of the beautiful feathers.

We planned our poems by looking firstly at the colours, then the patterns. We then went onto thinking about movement and character before considering the uses made of these beautiful feathers, and any mystical slant we may want to add to create our poem.

The poems are written in free verse but some of the children used their planning to make them into Cinquain Poetry.

.

The Peacock

The Peacock,
The majestic Emperor of the land,
The million teardrop eyes,
Weary of staring through time,
The fan of feathers attracting passers-by,
His crown placed perfectly on his head,
The iridescent sapphire blue glowing softly.

George
The Peacock

Blue, orange, green and gold,
With their tails fanning out behind them,
Like a veil,
Until they lift them and an arch of colour evolves,
Tall, glamorous and elegant when they strut,
With the eyes on their feathers,
Watching you as you stare in amazement.

Chloe
The Peacock

The emerald body shimmies in the light,
He starts to walk elegantly,
Circles within circles,
Colours shine proudly,
Spring blue eyes look like a mask,
His head dancing like an Egyptian,
Feathers with eyes that stare back at you.

Chloe

The Peacock

Shimmering yellow in the sky,
Aqua blue in your eye,
His rainbow arch a festival green,
The elegant beast walks with a gleam,
It has a mask that’s snowy white,
Delicate circles, Oh so bright,
Shimmering shells in it’s eye,
As it looks up in the sky,
It has beautiful quills
As precious as treasure,
A colourful cloak hiding such pleasure,
And inside this quilt
Is a Peacock
Janna
The Peacock

Silvery feathers glimmer in the night,
All of them shining bright,
Look at how he shows them off,
Standing proud,
Looking beautiful,
His all-seeing eyes sparkle in the moonlight,
What a wonderful sight.
Tess

The Peacock

Sparkling eye like a crystal ball,
Wavy tail like the sea,
Walks like a majestic King,
A petrol blue flair,
Dancing elegantly from left to right,
A glittering green walks away in the sunset.

Alfie Rolfe
Peacock
Magical Blue,
Beautiful bright feathers,
Elegant, graceful, very smart,
Wise.
The Peacock

Peacock, Peacock, your colours are fine,
That lovely sea blue, I wish you were mine
Your beautiful patterns look like a rainbow,
With wonderful colours of green, blue and yellow,
Your movement is beautiful, elegant and proud,
And the sound of your cry is so very loud,
Your eyes are magical and wonderful green
You really are a sight to be seen.

Daniel
Peacock
Magical blue,
Hopping like a Kangaroo,
A happy, excited, strutting,
Bird
The Peacock

Sea blue circles,
King of blue,
Woven feathers,
As beautiful as a royal King,
Finest beautiful feathers,
Magical quills,
He hides his face with a mystical mask.
Thomas
The Peacock

Deep sea-blue eyes staring at the sun,
Elegant feathers, emerald green,
Treasure like glamorous gold,
Quill covered decoration,
Emerald green.

Alex
The Peacock

Peacock, oh peacock,
What beautiful feathers you have,
Sapphire blue,
Emerald green,
Auburn orange and
Purple amethyst,
Open your tail,
Like a fabulous gigantic fan Chinese fan,
Circles within circles,
Like magical all-seeing eyes.
Your feathers are magic,
Sort after quills,
Every letter written is
A different mystical colour.
Oh peacock, oh peacock,
You are such a show off,
Elegant, haughty and proud.
Amy Arthur
Peacock
Colourful bird,
Elegant and graceful,
Show off, superior and proud,
Peacock
The Peacock

This beautiful bird is a lovely sea blue,
It’s masked black eyes seeing right through you,
It is arrogant and proud, and shouts very loud,
It’s feathers with a thousand eyes,
Open up with surprise,
Overlapping as they strut,
It’s eyes closed shut,
The magical feathers bring romance to females,
When dropped as a gift from their rainbow tails.

Luke
The Peacock

White faces like snow,
A rainbow of eyes,
The star of the show,
And King of all the animals,
Diesel green body,
Jewel encrusted feathers,
Like a veil of mystery,
The metallic emeralds glimmer.
Feathers lapping each other like waves,
A lost feather a healing remedy for the phoenix,
A peacock’s favourite friend.

Jack
The Peacock

The peacock stands like a soldier,
Dressed in sapphire blue,
It shows off it’s beautiful emerald green umbrella,
Where golden raindrops fall,
It’s crown on the back of his head,
He is as proud as a King.

Lewis

The Peacock

The peacock strides in silence,
His lacy train following behind,
All seeing eyes staring,
The hundreds of eyes of the giant Argos,
It’s plumage iridescent like a dragonfly,
His round firm head crowned with a tufted Mohican.

He is the King of feathers,
As he struts majestically,
Sauntering in full regalia like a newly crowned Maharaja,
The dull, muddy peahens take hardly any notice,
He tries to impress with his loud screeching call,
Whilst nodding cheekily as if a dancing Egyptian.

Staring at other silent birds,
His shining emerald, gold azure markings,
Like a charm to protect it’s wearer,
A symbol of Divinity, rank and power,
He is a lively landscape,
The guard to the gates of Paradise.

Vicky

The Peacock

The Peacock gracefully walks lavishly in the lemon sunlight,
It’s neck coloured blue like the tropical seas,
It’s head up looking around majestically,
It’s metallic iridescent body glistens in the daylight,
A turquoise feathery fan suddenly appears like a carnival headdress,
Each feathers eye has a secret behind it but what?

Molly

The Peacock

A walking rainbow,
An Egyptian Pharaoh
With his headdress of colourful feathers and precious
gems,
He drops his feathers as he struts regally,
The Pixies come out to collect them for their magical
powers.
He reveals the veil of a beautiful cloak,
Trailing along the emerald green grass,
A carnival of rainbows with a hundred eyes,
A forest of multi-coloured feathers,
What lies at the end of this magical rainbow?

Dominique
The Peacock

It’s body so navy blue, like the glistening sea
swaying gently,
Feathers emerald green a neck of gold,
A festival of eyes watching you,
It’s tail arched like a rainbow,
Lacy threads woven,
Proud but cheekily he nods his head,
Dancing like an Egyptian God,
But in the end a feather stands
All alone on display,
Turning old and dusty by the minute.

Lucy
The Peacock

Shimmering feathers of turquoise blue and emerald
greens,
The peacock displays his fan,
The colours magnificent like oil on water.

Strutting showing off to the world,
He is the most handsome bird around,
Moving this way and that for all to see.

He is the king with the crown on his head,
Respected like royalty,
The title is his alone,
Stepping out like a pompous King.

Matthew
The Peacock

Many colours can be seen,
Mainly blue with tints of green,
Pearlescent colours match my eyes,
Feathers glistening
What a surprise.

Standing proud with headdress bold,
Semi-circular eyes in every fold,
The male peacock stating his claim,
The female, although graceful, not the same.

The peacocks tail has plates of illusion,
So many colours it causes confusion,
He walks so very tall and vain,
As he struts his way around the field again.

Riece
The Peacock

Metallic feathers
sway in the wind,
A fan of colours
gleam in the sun.

A sapphire crown
sits on his head,
A long robe trails behind
As he parades to his wedding.

A million shining eyes
Glow like the silver stars,
Looking into a future,
That we cannot see.

Lucy

The Peacock

The peacock's bright feathers are like a tropical ocean,
Proudly strolls showing off his grand feathers,
She looks like an Egyptian King
Her arch of feathers, like a rainbow fan glistening in the sunlight,
It's lacy multicoloured circles look like a hundred eyes,
The peacock's tail, like a brides veil,
The graceful peacock,
the most important of all the land.

Rebecca

The Peacock

The fan opened,
One million eyes stare,
Circles overlapping circles,
Showing off it’s feathered headdress,
Proud of who it is
Performing it’s exotic Egyptian dance,
It’s golden feathers gleam in the sunlight,
The eyes, shining black pearls,
It’s glistening chest protrudes,
A mask of a zebra,
Golden treasure hidden beneath.

Rachel

The Peacock

Feathers like sapphire seas,
Turquoise lace covering eyes,
Metallic jade glides over it’s glistening neck,
It’s eyes like jet black dart boards,
With piercing white scars around them.

As feathers drop from it’s magnificent body,
Their magic calls to the Pixies,
Who climb aboard and fly away,
More and more feathers drop
And are taken away for uses to us unkown.

Natalie
The Peacock

The peacock stands tall and proud,
His blue and green feathers stand out from the crowd,
He unwraps his wings for us all to see,
The beautiful colours so bright and feathery.

As we sit and wait for the peacocks eyes to illuminate,
Feathers so tall and head held high,
What a magnificent bird,
All the other birds cry.

Chelsea
The Peacock

Golden yellow,
Sapphire blue eyes,
On the beautiful emerald,
Magical,
Iridescent green feathers,
The graceful, pompous peacock,
Walking like an Egyptian King,
With a crown of beautiful blue,
A hundred feathers,
A million eyes,
A forest of feathers, a carnival of rainbows.

Darcey
The Peacock

As the peacock gracefully roamed,
Many heads would turn as it’s plate of illusion was lifted,
Then it’s crown would sit perched.

As it shows off, many people would glance,
And watch such pride and beauty,
As it takes big deep strides into mating territory.

Eyes would lift as the magnificent heads float in mid-air,
As it’s emerald and gold cape is lifted,
As choices are made the king is left with no partner.

And so the magnificent creature slowly fades,
You see him slumped,
As he looks away, back to his home,
For yet another season.

Ryan
The Peacock

Turquoise blue,
Shimmering green,
Raindrop eyes.
An arched rainbow,
The peacock drops it’s tail like a wedding veil,
It poses like a celebrity.

The shell like feathers petrol blue,
Then a gently glowing green,
Nodding softly,
Which of these is it really?

The Peacock

The emerald green peacock
Hops around
Proud and showing off
Trailing his fan like lace behind him

His tail feathers always watching you
From a distance,
With his bright colourful eyes,
His all-seeing eyes
Disguised with a magical mask.

Kelly

Peacock,
Magical blue,
Feathery tail trailing,
Travelling around feeling proud,
King.

The Peacock

A lovely King of wonderful colours,
Always self-conscious,
Never stopping to say ‘Hello’.

Reece

The Peacock

Emerald feathery skin,
With a white and black hard mask,
Aqua blue, silky chest,
Overlapping, swirling feathers,
A thousand eyes are looking at you,
How do they grow such colourful feathers?
I see a huge rainbow as he shows off his plumage,
Like a light to the peahens.

Charlie

The Peacock
It can watch you from behind,
Using it’s aqua jade eyes,
It romantically walks with pride,
Circles within circles keeping their eyes on you,
Sometimes he walks with his tail down
And appears to be very sad,
Sometimes he walks
With his tail fanned like a headdress,
He is such a beautiful bird.

Hannah

The Peacock,

Alexander the Great was so amazed
When he saw these birds,
He threatened any one who maimed or killed them
With heavy torture, not empty words.

The peacock was the bird of Hera,
She herself the Queen of the Gods,
It’s remarkable colours and patterns
Spreading starrily as it nods.

Before the beginning of rainfall,
Peacocks utter an unpleasant wail or cry,
Adorned with eye-like markings
At night they like to roost up high.

Fiery feathers are renewed each year,
A jewelled fan of sapphires, emeralds and gold,
Extravagant, exotic, exciting,
Many stories of them are told!

Jake
The Peacock

Feathers shine like sapphire seas,
Turquoise laces covered in eyes,
Beautiful metallic eyes glaring,
Aqua blue,
A continuous rainbow rising high,
Opens it’s wonderful arc of beauty,
A king, walking regally to his palace.

Mia

The Peacock

It’s mask as white as glistening snow,
It’s tail like a carnival headdress,
Trailing like a wedding veil,
A proud peacock nodding cheekily

It’s tail a clash of petrol blue and emerald green,
It’s body the colour of Azure seas,
It’s raindrop eyes so beautiful and jet black.

Sophie
The Peacock

Eyes,
A million eyes,
Arched turquoise rainbow,
A fan of colours,
A forest of emerald feathers,
Sapphire rainbow drops,
Lacy, multicoloured,
A festival of eyes.

Becky
The Peacock

Glistening green and amber yellow,
Circles on stripes, chestnut brown and turquoise blue,
As it’s pyramid body proudly shows itself off,
The hundreds of eyes watching everything,
The feathered tail could be used for a queen.

Spring Term 07 Various Poems

Love

The power of love is as strong as diamonds,
As soon as that one most beautiful person catches your eye
Like a bullet you know she is the one for you,
To hold when you are falling,
Her eyes that sparkle brightly in the sunlight,
Her touch is as soft as feathers from a dove,
Her kiss will hypnotize you for a lifetime,
And you will never let go of her,
But you know even if you never see her again
Your love for her will keep running.

Ryan

Seasons

I wake up to spring
I can hear the birds sing,
The bright sun and the chill in the air,
The flowers start to bloom,
Pink blossom everywhere

Spring has gone and summer’s here,
I hear the children playing near,
Sounds of laughter, it’s time for fun,
I can’t wait to play and enjoy the sun

Today it’s fall, and I’m having a ball,
Autumn leaves fall, while the trees stand tall
Bright vivid colours, red, gold and brown
Children playing with leaves on the ground

Winter is here, there’s a chill in the air,
Crisp white snow lies everywhere,
The snow is bright and shines like a light
Slowly melting into the night.

Alycia
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

Thanks to the daughters of Eve and Sons of Adam
The war between Narnians was eventually fathomed

The oldest was Peter who fought through the night
He was courageous and brave to get involved in the fight

Susan was told off for touching the historical art
She was beautiful, kind and ever so smart

Edmond was imprisoned by the wicked Queen
The beavers that saved him were never mean

Lucy, she was so honest and sweet
She saved the lives of the people who had been beat

The wicked White Witch dwelled in a castle of ice
She’s mean and cruel and definitely not nice!

Aslan the lion killed the White Witch
For Aslan he had won, but for the Pevensies it had only begun

Dominique
My Furry Alarm Clock

He climbs into my bed at half past twelve,
He pounces and knocks things off my shelves
He parks himself on top of my feet
He hisses and growls, then rips up my sheet

He falls asleep while purring quite loudly
He later wakes up and stretches proudly
He licks my face and creeps up my body
He claws my school clothes and makes them look shabby

He follows me as we walk down the stairs
He disappears into his own secret lair
He later appears with a smile on his face
He makes me canter as he picks up the pace

He scratches the food cupboard but it has been wired!
He looks at me sweetly but I decide I’m too tired
He tries to escape but the door is locked
He is my cat and he’s my furry alarm clock!

Abbie
Sounds All Around Us

Loud and low
You can shout or moan
Calm and quiet
Don’t make a riot!
Chitter chatter, does it matter?
We’re always talking
Even when we’re walking
Everybody’s screaming
Please say I’m dreaming

Lucy
The Beach

The golden sands relax
As the beautiful waves roll on top of them
The palm trees sway
As the calm wind rushes through them
They whisper secrets to each other.
The ice cream carts giggle as the children choose their ice creams
Suddenly darkness falls
Everything goes to sleep but the waves
Still stroke the golden sands.

Danielle
Drama Queen

The throbbing pain,
I can feel it crawling up my wrist,
My sight becomes blurred,
Tears trickle vertically down my face.
I look gloomily below,
Glaring at my splintered wound,
My cheeks become red and hot,
I try to fight the pain.

Pouring red blood oozes out with my splinter
Bringing relief and happiness to my thoughts,
I thought I wouldn’t last another hour,
But that has all changed thoroughly.
I tugged on my mum’s coat sleeve,
Pressured tears burst onto my skin

“Here it’s alright,
Stop being a drama Queen,
It will be better in no time,
Just run it under cold water.”

I am NOT a drama Queen!!

Danielle
The Dragon

It has burning fiery eyes
Gleaming fire rushing out of its mouth
It’s scaly red body as dirty as ever,
The wings are flapping everywhere
It’s really angry, so watch out!
It lurks round every corner
But my Mum always come back in time for tea!

Darcey
The House

The creaky house sits and stares,
The windows are broken like razor sharp teeth,
Gleaming fire is burning behind the crumbling door
The walls are wooden stiff, painted black
The roof is raw with sun-blistered paintwork,
Out of the fearsome chimney smoke puffs like a sleeping dragon,
The years pass but nothing changes
Except………..one girl entered
And never returned!

Darcy
If I were an Animal….

If I were an animal I would be
A Kangaroo who sits up a tree,
If I were an animal I would be
A baby bear around for tea
If I were an animal I would be
An orange dog who swims in the sea
If I were an animal I would be
A little bird that has to sneeze
If I were an animal I would be
Nobody except me!

Darcey
Shoes

I’m bright red and I small of leather
I’m shiny and new,
I’ve just been wrapped up in a beautiful box,
I travel the long journey to my new home.
I walk the streets
Traveling to shops all over town
My colour is fading
I begin to tramp the streets tiredly
I’m old and dirty
I’m a shoe

Lucy
Dragon

It has eyes of flame,
Claws like the blade of a knife,
Green scaly skin,
It’s a giant of terror and fear,
Oh I do so hate my Mum!

Lucy
If I were an animal….

If I were an animal I would be
An elephant lying in a tree
If I were an animal I would be
A tiger sitting down for tea

If I were an animal I would be
A bear taking honey form the bees,
If I were an animal I would be
A penguin dancing happily

Lucy
I Have a Secret

I have a secret I hold with me,
Should I keep it or set it free,
To my friend I could tell,
She might have one for me as well,
But should I keep it and hold it tight,
And let it sleep with me every night?

Chelsea
Dark Alley

Suspiciously mind blowing,
Animals stalling,
Rats and spiders scatter through the darkness,
The mess is totally appalling

A mischievous place,
Full of watchful eyes,
That jump out in front of you,
Like a devil’s surprise

A scary monster that comes out at night,
It screeches when you walk,
If you come out quick enough
A lesson will be taught

Dangerously petrifying,
If you live in this home,
It’s full of deadly things,
That you would have never known.

Natalie
It Hurts, It Hurts!

It hurts, it hurts!
What’s wrong?
I cut myself….ow, it hurts
How?
It hurts too much to explain….it hurts!
Stop whining
It’s bleeding….it hurts
Stop being such a drama Queen!
But Mum….ow it hurts
It’s only a scratch
But, but…….it hurts!

Dominique
Tornado

It destroys everything
In it’s way,
The whirling monster
Twists and turns,
Cars fly through the air
Like birds in flight,
Everything is demolished
People hear the siren
They rush to safety
It’s too late, people are caught!
People scream as
Their loved ones get carried off,
By the whirling monster
The storm ends
People breathe a sigh of relief!

Danielle
The Dark Alley

The dark, dark alley,
Is very, very scary,
I saw a rat,
Then a bat,
Now there’s a cat!
When I was Young

When I was young I had a cardboard boat,
That sailed the seven seas searching for dragons to slay,
Coloured blankets were used for an African tent,
At night I would climb a steep mountain to my bed,
I would dream all night where I could go tomorrow.

Molly
Dragon in the Shed

The noises started in the shed,
Moaning and groaning, bang and crash.
I could see dragon shaped shadows
Through the dirty glass,
Lights flashed like yellow fire.
Oh No!...It’s coming out,
The door creaked as it opened,
As I hid behind the apple tree and froze with fright,
I peeped round and I could see him come towards me,
It was only Dad!

Molly
If I were an animal

If I were an animal I would be a gorilla that picks at fleas,
If I were an animal I would be a shark that lives under the sea,
If I were an animal I would be a bear that steals honey form bees,
If I were an animal I would be an elephant that likes to sit in a tree,
If I were an animal I would be a penguin that slides down slopes on his tummy!

Molly
Teacher Talk

Why do teachers talk so much
And make the children sleep?
They talk without taking a breath,
We’d rather count some sheep.

They talk and talk and talk and talk,
Until they’ve lost their voice
Then they use it as an excuse
For bunking off their course.

They talk until the children snooze,
And then they shout at them,
But all the kids have nothing to lose,
It’s not their fault teachers, it’s you!

They talk and talk with all their might
Until at last it’s lunchtime
If I could write what they say in a day
It’ll probably take four fortnights!

They talk and talk and talk and talk,
Until finally one day,
Their tongues can’t bear it any more
And decide to run away!

A word of caution to all teachers,
Quickly it’s not too late,
Remember to think about what you say,
And do not bore the kids away,

NOW THAT’S YOUR HOMEWORK FOR TODAY!

Joel
The Gibberdonk

The Gibberdonk has fluffy fur,
And if you stroke it, it will purr,
But if you touch it’s face,
It will hit you with a mace!

The Gibberdonk has bright blue eyes,
But if you stare you will despise,
Your best friend
Will drive you round the bend.

The Gibberdonk’s favourite food,
Which it will regurgitate once chewed,
Is human with
A touch of Cumin!

The last most noticeable fact,
So please take note to remain intact,
Is it’s tail,
Which if you cut off will get you in jail!
If I were an animal ….
If I were an animal I would be,
A penguin with two massive feet,
I would swim through the sea,
Through the city of Atlanta,
And then I would be a frog,
And drink lots of Fanta,
I would widen my chest
And float to the top,
Then I would
Be an owl,
Who wants to be a cop.

Jack
Storm

The storm is a wolf
Tearing and ripping the sky
Roaring like thunder.

Jack
Lynx

A lynx
A pouncing cat
As elegant as a swan
As colourful as a great reef
A lynx

Jack
The Cat

The cat
Ready to pounce
A killer cat always
Maybe later…I need to rest
The cat

Jack
Strawberries

Sumptious and lovely
Tastes so sweet
Ruby Red
All of them a special treat
Watery splendour
Berry bliss
Everlasting sensation
Ripe and juicy
Ready and waiting
Yummy to eat

So enjoy!

Dominique
If I were an animal I would be..

If I were an animal I would be
A monkey that drank green tea,
Swimming in the water,
Dancing with the fish,
If I were a monkey that would be my wish.

Daisie
Flowers

Funky fragrance
Lovely to look at
On display for you to see
Wonderful colours, red, pink and mauve
Even if they’re artificial they are great
Roses are my favourite
Stylish and pretty.

Daisie
Under the Kitchen Table

A serpent’s cave
Covered in wet golden sand,
A big lorry
Flashing red and yellow,
A secret hide out
No grown ups allowed,
An ambulance
Rushing my cousins to hospital,
A water palace
Filled with mermaids and dolphins,
A mystery land
With unicorns and fairies,
A haunted castle
Filled with scary ghosts.

Katana
I Have a Secret

I have a secret,
The most important secret of all,
Only I know the secret
That everyone wants to know.
I can whisper you the secret,
If you promise not to tell,
The secret is so fantasizing,
It’s a secret you’d want to yell.
This secret can only be heard,
This secret cannot be seen,
From a secret like this there’s a lot to be learned,
Your ears can hear the secret only.
I am about to tell you the best secret of all,
That cannot even be seen through a crystal ball,
Here it comes,
It’s what we’ve been waiting for,
The secret is…….

Abbie
If I were an animal I would be…..

If I were an animal I would be,
A bottle-nosed dolphin swimming in the sea,
Diving in and out of the water, warning off sharks,
Watching fish leap and play in their own miniature parks.

I would hate the trainers who make wild dolphins work,
I would hate the vicious predators that roam and lurk,
I would love the people who set us free,
If they were us they would get the same treat.

The problem is that I’m not as dolphin,
Or any creature of that sort,
I’m just human,
With legs not fins, leaping not diving and playing sports.

Abbie
If I Had a Magical Potion

If I had a magical potion,
I would turn myself into a fly,
Travel the world like a private spy,
Soaring high in the big blue sky,
Observing everybody’s moves,
Watching and listening,
Enjoying the views,
Time in motion,
Oh how I wish I had a magical potion!

Lucy
It Hurts!

It happened one minute ago
in the garden on the steps,
Quick, call a Doctor, no an ambulance,
There’s blood everywhere,
I’m going to die, I’m only young,
Help!
Oh! Here comes Mum to save my life,
A plaster, a big one, I hope it’s not broken,
Wait! A plaster? Surely that’s not right,
I need stitches!
Oh! A lollipop, strawberry, my favourite,
Perhaps I’ll live after all!

Lucy
I Had a Secret

I had a secret,
Do you want to know?
Chocolate and sweets or yummy treats,
Family and friends sometimes go round the bend,
Now it’s time for this secret to come to an end.

Lucy
Dragon…

A breath of fire,
Scaly back and pointy teeth,
Roars out loud to everyone,
Bald head with a big nose to match it,
Filled with plain evilness,
Scowling down upon you,
His face is red,
You know….my teacher is SO annoying!

Rachel
Fred

I have eyes of flame and live in Kuchunga,
My mother says I look ten years younger,
I’m black with blue spots form head to toe,
While I’m watching television I always sew,
I’m cross-eyed, with two left feet,
My favourite food is red meat,
I blubber out the things I say,
And never know what bills to pay,
My universe is pink and white,
And once you see it you’ll get quite a fright,
You know what my name is,
My mates call me Fred.

Rachel
The Dark Alley

Ahead looks spooky,
Dark and gloomy,
Silence fills the air,
I’ve got to go through, if I dare.

I can see cobwebs with spiders hanging low,
Making my path so difficult to go,
Bats flapping their wings close to my head,
I wish there was another route instead!
If I Had a Magical Potion

If I had a magical potion,
I would make it for me to drink,
If it worked I would shrink,
My Hotwheel cars I could then drive,
Zooming around in my new Aston Martin DB9,
I would give some potion to one of my friends,
To drive the Corvette, we would race around the bends.
Jack Frost

A boy named Jack comes throughout the nasty night,
As he comes he blows the freezing frost,
It spreads form car to car,
Then he flies away in the midnight sky,
People wake to find it slippy,
And really very nippy,
Oh Jack Frost stay away.

Chloe
A Fantastic Job

As I blast the ball,
The crowd were relying on me to score,
So were my mates.
It flew away into the goal,
“Goal”
The crowd were roaring.
I celebrated my fabulous goal,
Ronaldo, Henry and Roony celebrated with me.
That was my hat-trick,
I was proud of myself,
It was the ninetieth minute.
The ref blew his whistle,
It was over,
Four, two, to us,
I felt as happy as the crowd were,
It made my liver quiver,
And my knees freeze!

Jack
The Demon Teacher

Her eyes are like balls of lave
Raining from a volcano,
Her shriek hickles like a cranky old witch,
When she is angry her face goes bright,
And steam spits out of her ears.
She steams at you like a bull
And fire is squirting from her nostrils,
But deep down you know,
She is the teacher you dream about.
Magic Potion

If I had a magic potion
I would change these things,
My teacher would no longer shout,
And I could fly with wings,
School work would be easy,
Homework already done,
Children would always be happy,
Having lots of fun.
I could eat sticky sweets and
My teeth would never be rotten,
All the naughty things I’ve done
Would always be forgotten.
So if I had a magic potion,
How happy I would be,
For then I could eat chocolate,
For breakfast, dinner and tea!

Nightmare School

I go to a school called the Nightmare School,
Where creepy crawlies are on every wall,
There are bats in the corners and spiders on the floor,
Ghosts in the classrooms hiding behind the door.

Witches amd wizards making nasty spells,
Brewing potions with horrible smells,
There are blood and bones in every room,
And witches flying about on their brooms,

Slugs and snails leave a slimy trail,
And rats and lizards run around
With no tails,
And that is why they call it…
THE NIGHTMARE SCHOOL!

If I Were an Animal…

Lions roar,
Monkeys eat bananas,
Bears growl,
Dogs can bark,
Is that all they do?
Well if I were an animal
I would be a hyena that can laugh,
Or a dolphin that can perform tricks!

Little Whale

Little whale, little,
Swimming in the sea,
Oh flap your tail
Little whale
And swim to me.
Little whale, little whale,
What small fins you’ve got,
You are so small in the vast sea,
Really just a dot!

What do Animals Do?

Monkeys like jumping through the trees,
Fishes are swimming through the seas,
Crocodiles love to bite,
While chameleons quickly disguise.

Lions are fond of eating meat,
They hide in the grass and then they leap,
Hippos like to stomp their feet in the water,
But are really finding fish to slaughter.

Cheetahs are extremely fast,
But dogs just sit and bark,
The bears have lots of hair,
And the birds dance in mid-air.

Snakes are slimy and like to swirl,
But they also like to curl,
Turtles enjoy life in a shell,
And when they have races don’t do very well!

My Unusual Pet

Once there was an unusual pet,
Who had a fear of going to the vet,
The reason for this pet’s fear,
Is because he only had one ear.

He had more legs than any others,
Not like the rest of his brothers,
One eye bigger than the other,
Who was very scared of his mother.

His nose as big as an anteater,
He could run as fast as a cheetah,
His unusual size head
was bigger than your bed!

His really long tail
was as long as a whale,
Let me introduce you to
My pet rabbit,
His name is Tablet.

Spring

Orange, red, yellow, green,
Different flowers everywhere to be seen,
So prettyful to look at,
The sun so bright, the sky so new,
Brightens up the day when you’re feeling blue,
The grass so green, the trees so tall,
With little hopping rabbits so tiny and small,
The soft, fluffy clouds filling the sky,
With little white birds gliding by.

The Ocado Man

Oh the Ocado man,
Didn’t deliver down my way,
The CFC was late,
The vans didn’t get passed the gate.

Oh stupid, stupid, stupid man,
Stupid, stupid man,
Oh stupid, stupid, stupid man,
Who broke the conveyer belt!

Oh the Ocado man,
Should have delivered form five to six,
It’ now past midnight,
Oh fiddlesticks!

Oh stupid, stupid, stupid man,
Stupid, stupid man,
Oh stupid, stupid, stupid man,
Who broke the conveyer belt!

Oh the Ocado man,
Has finally arrived,
The eggs were at the bottom,
Half of it was forgotten!

Oh stupid, stupid, stupid man,
Stupid, stupid man,
Oh stupid, stupid, stupid man,
Who broke the conveyer belt!
