Autumn is.....Poems

Autumn is……

A coat of many colours

Tigers moving swiftly

A motionless world of leaves

Flashing colours through blinking eyes

Like the turning pages of a picture book

Crisp apple pie

A rainbow blanket covering every tree

Mountains of golden leaves

The autumn wind carries wisps of fresh air

Autumn ends and it is time for winter

Abbie
Autumn is……

Crispy colourful leaves crowding me

Conkers scattered

Acorns for the squirrels

Flying leaves

Amy
Autumn is……

A palette of rainbow colours

A packet of crisps

Helicopters being shot down by the wind

A colourful whirlwind

A spine chilling season

Leaves twirling down from the trees

Sparkling stars on the grass

Rebecca
Autumn is……

Leaves falling
Conkers shiny
Drifting smoke
Warm and cosy
Crunchy piles
Cold and brisk morings
A painted rainbow
Deep red
Apple Pies
Dark skies
Hot stew
Log fires

Chelsea
Autumn is……

A cold, crispy night

Bonfires burning bright

Yellow and orange

A rainbow of colour

A blanket of foggy mist

A shiver of air

Brown leaves

Golden Willow trees

Chloe
Autumn is……

Leafy, crispy colour

Full and cold

Lots of leaves around me

Lifting off the ground

All the way up in the foggy, cold, crispy

Red and brown leafy sky

Daniel
Autumn is…..

The sound of crackling leaves

An orange blanket in the distance

A warm fire

A freshly baked apple pie

A yellow stream

Happiness

Conkers falling

Crisp brown

The smell of bonfires

Red silence

Danielle
Autumn is……

Autumn is fresh apple pie, topped with Cinnamon
It is a demon’s enemy, glowing like the sun up above
Twisted string embossed chime bars
Orange carpet of glory
Rainbow colour charts, glisten in the sunlight of glamour
The darks opposite
Childrens’ bed of leaves
Crisp orange
Sweet sugar glittering like polished sand grains
Colourful pot-pourri

Danielle
Autumn is……

A palette of paint

A giant’s blanket

A taste of apple pie for tea

An odour of smoke

A flaming dragon, burning the trees

A swirl of crispy leaves

Darcey
Autumn is……

A shiver down your spine

A rainbow of leaves

Crisp

Golden yellow

Red, orange

Roaring wind

A frosted kingdom

Dominique
Autumn is……

Cold frost

Crispy leaves falling from nowhere

Mist through the foggy air

Brown, Orange, Red

Smoke from burning hot bonfires

Another world waiting to be discovered.

Hannah
Autumn is……

The hedgehog

A ghosts blow

An orange land

A red carpet

A silent world

Hibernation

Autumn is calm

A bonfire

A reflection of a forest

Jack
Autumn is……

Autumn is a crispy orange blanket covering the earth

Radiant with many bright colours

Golden helicopters float to the ground

The scent of wheat and Barley

Fruit harvested in the golden light of the sun

The aroma of fire fills the air as the smoke rises

The vivid pumpkins lie on the ground beside a stuffed scarecrow

The leaves expose their veins as they dry
Crisp and hard

I see the warm apple pie waiting for me on the window sill
Joel
Autumn is……

An orange kingdom

A blanket of leaves

Crispy earth

Freshly baked Apple Pie

Ruby, Amber, Tigers Eye

Conkers raining

Hibernation

Silence

Katana
Autumn is……

Autumn is when leaves fall off the trees

Children kick the colourful leaves from the wet ground

They have leaf fights wearing their hats and scarves

Then stay inside and sit by the fire when it is cold

Kelly
Autumn is……

A taste of damp leaves

Multi-coloured air

An hors d’ouvre for winter

Crispy air

A palace of leaves

A race to Christmas

A parade of leaves dancing like ballerinas

Cold

Frosty

Levi
Autumn is……

A carpet of colours

A cold curtain pulled across my face

A world of leaves, red, yellow and gold

A patchwork quilt covering the ground

The sight of blazing bonfires burning as the night draws in

A rainbow paint palette

The smell of winter

Cold

Colourful

Lucy
Autumn is…..

Crunch and crisp

A whirl of cold fresh air brushes past my face as I step outside

Chocolate browns and golden yellows

Fiery colours surround me

Tender leaves beneath my feet

Gentle sounds of leaves falling

Perfect acorns lying still

As I carry on walking

Lucy
Autumn is……

Red glistening fruit

Bonfires burning

A leaves worst fear

Leaves scattered like corpses after a war

Matthew
Autumn is……

An acorns bed in the leaves

The sound of munching crisps

A squirrels hide out for winter

A cackling audience listening to the wind

The smell of damp wood

Conkers dropping heavily to the ground

A field of golden yellow

Ripening red

Muddy brown

Shimmering gold

Mia
Autumn is……

A patchwork blanket

Paint splattered everywhere

The smell of ancient wood

A wet rainbow on the earth

A bonfire of leaves

A chameleon

Rustling leaves

The wind that sounds like children’s cries

Molly
Autumn is……

A crisp fresh land

A winter’s awakening

A summer’s sleep

A freshly baked apple pie

A trick or treater’s fun

A leaf’s death

A hedgehog

Natalie
Autumn is……

Crispy,

A corridor full of colours

Leaves leaping to the ground

When twisted trees stand naked

Wind running through my hair

Rain crashing down

The air is perfumed with bonfires burning

The echo of the woodpecker

Rachel
Autumn is……

A palette of rainbow colours

A packet of crisps

Helicopters being shot down by the wind

A whirlpool of acorns and conkers

A spine chilling season

Leaves dancing their finale

Sparkling stars cover the grass

Rebecca
Autumn is……

A good feeling

Patterns in a painting

Crunchy crispy leaves

A corridor of colours

T-shirts off and jumpers on

Rainy days while the sun rests

Reice
Autumn is……

Diamonds glisten on the damp grass

A colour filled planet

Walking in the light of the moon

A carpet of colours

A delicate world

Colours falling from the sky

Red, Brown and Yellow

Squirrels gathering food fo the long winter months

Birds prepare to fly south

Summer clothes exchanged for winter warmers

Warm breathe visible against the icy cold air

A bitter taste on the tongues of many

The countdown to Christmas has begun
